Paper Mache: Loki Scepter - Stage 2

More paper mache! Got a chance to go to Micheal's today and buy more supplies for my paper mache creations. I still can't get the paper mache clay applied, because I didn't get a chance to go to a hardware store to buy a needed ingredient for it: joint compound. When I can, I will finally be able to paint it! :)

Blue stones that I found at Micheal's that I'm using as the Tesseract part of Loki's staff. Because the Tesseract glows, and I cannot make it battery or electric powered, I will most likely use clear, blue tinted plastic to create the look of a glow. As well, I may try and find blue or clear glow-in-the-dark paint to put around it, in order to get the look of it glowing.

The completed figure. As I've said, I have to apply the paint, clay, and coating to harden it. It's a bit hard to see, but I wrapped florist wire right below the stones to look like the metal under the Tesseract piece in the photo below.

As you can see from these pictures, there is quite a bit of detail on this object.

This is only my third attempt at paper mache. I still haven't been able to finish my Tesseract cube or Mjolnir. I have to get joint compound to make the clay. However, I think that this is pretty good for only a third attempt.

Hope it turns out well! :) And I hope you've been enjoying my blog! Please comment and share! Thanks!
