Murals: Marvel Edition - Stage 2

I've gotten some more work completed on the mural of Iron Man. I have finished the text in the speech bubble (which I'm thinking about redoing, because I'm not entirely happy with it) as well as the yellow/gold detailing on the armor.

I had to paint over the details on the face to create a more seamless appearance. It will be easy to repaint the black outline.

So far, everything is working well, and everything seems to be turning out great! Thanks for reading and following my progress with this mural!

Happy Father's Day!

For Father's Day I took the time to draw my dad's favorite character - Captain America.

It ended up looking pretty cool. His arms are in an odd position because he is holding his shield, and I was unable to include it in the drawing.

Hope you like my blog! Happy Father's Day! :)

New Art Tools!

Recently bought some new art supplies. I bought an electric eraser, a kneaded eraser, as well as many different shading tools. My first attempt in using these tools is below.

I will be drawing Captain America again soon! Hope you've enjoyed my blog. Please comment on my blog, as well as share; thank you so much for reading! :)

Murals: Marvel Edition - Stage 1

Well, I've been trying to paint some murals recently. Over the summer I plan on completing 5 murals. Below, I have taken some progress photos of the mural I am currently working on.

As you can see, this is Iron Man.I painted a speech bubble which will have text from the Avengers movie. The text will read: "Maybe your army comes and maybe it's too much for us but it's all on you. Because if we can't protect the Earth, you can be damned well sure we'll avenge it!"

I might have to cut that down because of the space available - maybe just the last sentence - but I think it'll look really cool when it's done!

I also will be painting Storm with the caption: "Do you know what happens to a toad when it's struck by lighting? The same thing that happens to everything else."

Spider-Man will have have the caption: "Whatever life holds in store for me, I will never forget these words; 'With great power comes great responsibility.' This is my gift, my curse. Who am I?  I'm Spider-Man!"

Lastly I will be painting Captain America, and then Thor and Loki fighting. The one with Captain America will have a speech bubble off to the side, that says, "What makes you so special?" with him replying, "Nothing. I'm just a kid from Brooklyn."

The painting with Thor and Loki will read as a conversation:
Thor - "We were raised together. We played together. We fought together. Do you remember none of that?"
Loki - " I remember a shadow, living in the shade of your greatness. I remember you tossing me into an abyss, I who should have been king!"

I think that the quote between Thor and Loki is the best - it shows the anger and the conflict between the two; this is needed considering the mural centers around the two of them fighting.

Anyway, this was one of the longest posts I've done. If you've read through this entire thing, I thank you! :) Hope you enjoy my plans for these murals - be sure to let me know what you think!

Note: I do not own any of the copy written characters above!! As well, I do not have own any of the character quotes above - they are all from the different movies! (e.g. The Avengers, Captain America, Spider Man, X-Men)

Final Note: the black outlining around the door is made to look like a comic book panel. In many comic books they have characters going into the next panel - especially during action sequences. That is the look I was trying to go for, and I think I actually achieved it!

Ms. Marvel

I decided to draw a another super hero from the Marvel universe. This time I decided to draw Ms. Marvel.

The photo is a bit faded, but I think that I did a good job with this drawing.

I'm trying to work on some murals of comic book characters right now. I've been pretty busy lately, so I haven't been able to paint much. I'm going to be posting some progress photos soon, and might be able to work on the murals more at some point in the coming weeks...
