Mini-Mural: Dragon - Completed!

Hello everyone! :) I apologize for not having posted anything in quite a long time. I just recently completed a mural of a dragon, and I think it looks really cool!

As you can see, I painted this mural over a door frame and was able to use the door frame to create a more 3-D look. I painted the tail and the claw directly on it, but in a way that it would look like it joined with the other parts of the mural seamlessly from any angle.

I thought a bright green would be a great contrasting color for the eye, in order for it to stand out. It turned out well!

To create the pile of gold the dragon is guarding, I used a metallic gold paint for the base. Once that was dry, I used a bright yellow for the gold pieces. I took a very small paint brush, and made small semi circles with the bright yellow paint. That way, when light shines on the painting, the gold background is lit up, but the yellow details add definition to the painting.

Hope you have enjoyed my blog! :) Thank you very much!  Please comment and share!

Some Recent Drawings

Just finished up some completely free-handed drawings.

Thank you for reading my blog! :) Hope you like it!

Dr. Who Art

Hey everyone! :) I've just recently begun to watch Dr. Who, and as such, It's beginning to influence my artwork. Here are some recent Dr. Who drawings and sketches that I've done, along with the Dr. Who painting/ mural I did not too long ago.

A drawing of a collection of Dr.Who characters. The characters, from bottom to top, left to right, include: Donna; Martha; The Doctor; Rose; K-9; a Weeping Angel; a Cyberman; Face of Boe; Novice Hame; a Dalek; a Weeping Angel; Cassandra; and a Slitheen.

Here's a sketch I did of the TARDIS with some quotes from The Doctor, the names of popular characters/aliens and phrases that are often said.

The mural isn't entirely done... I still have to put the, "Public Call," lettering onto the top of the door. I am also going to try and paint the door handle silver, so it goes with the whole theme better. Other than that, I'm pretty much done!! :D

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog! I truly appreciate it! :) If you could, please share my blog with others, and comment! Thanks again!

Mural: TARDIS - Dr. Who

Hey everyone! I've recently been working on a new mural project - a painting of the TARDIS from Dr. Who!!

All I have left to do is to find stencils or lettering that is small enough for the, "Public Call," part of the top of the door, and also print out the sign to place on the second panel above the door handle.

For the light, I drew the what the TARDIS light looked like on a piece of cardboard and cut it out. Then, I painted it to match the TARDIS. After that, I nailed it into the wall above the door.

I bought a small LED light, and used sticky tack to attach the light to the cardboard piece, and in a way that the light can still be turned on easily.

I think it turned out great!

Thank you for reading!! :D Please share my blog! I should be able to complete the TARDIS mural soon, and will post photos when I'm done.

MegaCon 2013

Hey everyone! For those of you who have stuck with my blog posts from the beginning, you may remember that I went to a event called MegaCon last year. After meeting several of the actors, I drew portraits of two of the actor's characters. (Pics from last year below.)

Peter Jurasik holding a drawing of his character, Londo Mollari, from Babylon 5.

Stephen Furst holding a drawing of his character, Vir Cotto, from Babylon 5.

This year, MegaCon had the full cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation. I was able to give almost everyone a drawing of them as their character from the show. I was unable to take a picture of Patrick Stewart holding a drawing of the Pharaoh from The Prince of Egypt (he was the voice actor for the character), because of the fact that there were easily over 50 people in line waiting for his autograph.

He really like my drawing though, and recognized the character! :) Great weekend, great people, great time! Here are the pictures I took of the other stars who let me take a pic of the holding my drawing!

This is Gates McFadden (Dr. Beverly Crusher) with my drawing. She wasn't allowed to pose and hold up my drawing like the other actors were.  (Sorry that the pic is a bit blurry and hard to see - the lighting was really bad, and I had to take this pic with a cell.)

Jonathan Frakes (William Riker) holding a drawing of a character he did the voice of in a TV animated series.

John Delancie (Q) with a cartoon version of his character.

Denise Crosby (Tasha Yar/Sela) holding my drawing of her character/characters.

Wil Wheaton (Wesley Crusher) holding a my cartoon version of his character. (The lighting/flash was really bad here too...)

Marina Sirtis (Counselor Deanna Troi) holding a cartoon version of her character.

Michael Dorn (Worf) holding the drawing I did of his character.

Thank you all so much for reading my blog! I really appreciate it! :)

Great Crafting Idea! :D

Hey everyone!! :) Today, I wanted to share this really cool product I found! It's called RoseArt Color Blanks. These are little blank figures, that come with special markers. You draw the designs that you want on them, color them the way you want, etc.

They... are... AWESOME!!! Here are some examples of some I've done.

OF COURSE I had to draw the Avengers ;) I will be making the X-Men if I can find any more!

Black Widow, Captain America, and Thor; I made cardboard wings for Thor's helmet! :)

Thor, Iron Man, and Hawkeye; I made the comic book version of Hawkeye because the color combination was brighter and more recognizable.

Of course, you can have heroes without a villain LOL Loki, the Hulk, and Black Widow; I also made cardboard horns for Loki's helmet like what I did for Thor's helmet.

Thanks for reading! :) Please share my blog!

Note: I do not own any copy-written characters above, or any copy-written materials listed above; I am in no way affiliated with Rose Art or own any products by said company!!

Most Recent Drawings

Hey everyone! Sorry it's been a while since I updated anything! These are my most recent drawings.

I have been trying to add backgrounds to the comic book characters I draw, so that there is a better understanding about where they are and what't going on
This is a drawing of Night-Crawler from the X-Men. As you can see, he is on a ledge in the midst of a city.

A drawing I did of the Lonely Mountain from the Hobbit. This is a free-handed drawing, and took inspiration from the 1977 version of the Lonely Mountain, and some of the previews that were given of what the mountain and cities looked like in the live action movie.

Close-up of the text. I took the design for this mountain, straight out of the map that is in the actual book!

Close up of Lake Town, and the main entrance to the dwarven city in the Lonely Mountain.

I have finally completed both of the Marvel Murals that I have been working on for a few months now! :) These are the completed murals:

A close up of the Thor and Loki mural.

The completed Thor and Loki mural.

Close up of the mural.

I was able to repaint the the words in the speech bubble. This is a quote from the "Avengers" movie, where Loki and Tony Stark/Iron Man are talking to each other.

The completed Iron Man mural! I'm really pleased with how this painting turned out! :)

Thank you for reading, and I hope you have enjoyed the progression of this mural!

Murals: Marvel Edition - Stage 9

Just finished the Loki and Thor mural yesterday - finally!!

I was able to focus the entire day yesterday, to working on the mural. That being said, other than the black on Thor's armor, I completed the rest of the mural, that was not done in Murals: Marvel Edition - Stage 8, within one day!
This is actually one of my favorite pictures of the mural!

I didn't make the blue background perfectly blue, because I wanted it to look like there were some different shade of blue in the background/sky. With the flash, it's difficult to see all of the different colors/blue paint.

Thank you very much for reading my blog! I hope to be able to finish the Iron Man mural soon, as well. Please comment on and share my blog!
